CATHOLICISM

Seeking the Fullness of Truth

Catholic – the Greek roots of the term come from καθόλου (katholou),
kata meaning “according to” and holos meaning “whole.” It means “according to the whole”

Many people’s only understanding of Catholicism comes from what they see and hear in the popular media. The popular image of Catholicism formed by the media is filled with stereotypes and misinformation, and is an inadequate source for truly understanding what Catholics are all about. (Think about people thinking everyone in Texas rides horses to school, etc).

“Judge the Catholic Church not by those who barely live by its spirit, but by the example of those who live closest to it.”

“There are not one hundred people in the United States who hate The Catholic Church, but there are millions who hate what they wrongly perceive the Catholic Church to be.”

-Venerable Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen

“For you have made us for yourself, and our hearts are restless until they rest in you.”

-St. Augustine

We are infinite minds in a finite universe. We have a need for God, to say for Truth and Love. We have a natural desire for truth.
